In the world of internet marketing, there are a lot of ways for people to make money. With that said, why are so many people failing?
The truth is people have always failed at business, some many times before they have success. The culture of quick and right now works great in fast food but when you are a business it’s just not always that easy.
In Malcolm Gladwell’s “Outliers”, he talks about the 10,000 hours it takes at doing something before success is assured. While I don’t think it happens this way for everyone, I do think it takes a lot of time to learn, practice and execute properly before real success can take place and most people do not give themselves the time nor make the effort to really be successful.
Add to this the crap you find online that is supposed to “teach” you the proper way to make money and you have a cesspool of bad information and misleading products that lead you down a path to obscurity. Many of us go down such paths until we get lucky and find someone who really does know and teach a proven method or we give up on a “teacher” and strike out on our own.
For those who are younger and have grown up with the internet and computers it’s the business sense that gets in the way. This can be made up for by partnering with older and wiser businessmen or simply go to the Small Business Administration and get some help.
The people who have the business savvy but lack the knowledge to do the work can hire the work done but it’s sometimes hard to hire the work done when you don’t really know what needs to be done. So we’re back to the number of hours to learn that which you don’t know that can make you a success. The bottom line is it takes time.
